Which servers work?: Any OpenSSH-compatible server. Sign in with a password or an SSH key.
How do I import a key?: Paste the private key or pick the key file. duotty reads OpenSSH and PKCS#8 private keys. Keys with a passphrase work too.
What does “host key changed” mean?: The server sent a different host key from the one duotty saved on your first connection. A reinstalled server can cause this, and so can someone sitting between you and the server. Verify the new key with the server’s admin before you trust it.
Why do sessions drop in the background?: iOS suspends apps that are not on screen. duotty keeps sessions alive for a short while, then iOS closes the connection. Come back and tap Reconnect.
What do I need?: iOS 26 or later. duotty runs on iPhone and iPad, and works best on iPhone Duo.
